Today, I spent the morning with a talented young woman, a miss Amy Burkman. I am blessed to call this woman my friend. She has been a source of encouragement and fun for the year+ I have known her. Enlightened, kind and giving she has been working tirelessly to develop her technique and cultivate her art. Recently all this hard work has paid off...
This morning she had asked me to document her latest work, two murals in Carlsbad, California. Approached by the city of Carlsbad she, along with two other local artists, was tasked to paint the Carlsbad boardwalk. The results were great! (see attached photos) I wont bother trying to describe it. I wont do it justice.
This caught the attention of the business next door, "Lola's 7 Up Market &Deli." To beautify their build they asked Amy to paint, on her own, the owner's three daughter. (again see photos). In beautiful sepia tones Amy captured the life of the image perfectly.
This is all in addition to traveling all over the world with Splash Animals!... Needless to say I am so proud of her! I can't wait to see more of her work and I will no doubt be there to display her work. Don't forget to check out her performance art with above. It's simply amazing!
